What does "flushable porta potty" mean?

A flushable porta potty has a foot-pedal flush that pulls water from a sealed fresh-water tank and sends waste through a closed bowl into the holding tank, so the user never sees or smells the tank. Ours also have an interior sink, mirror, paper-towel holder and coat hook, and a white or gray exterior that photographs better than a blue jobsite unit.

Does the flushable unit need water or power?

No. The flush is a mechanical foot pump and the water comes from an onboard tank, so the unit works in a field with no hookups. That is the main difference from a restroom trailer, which needs a hose bib and a 20-amp circuit.

Flushable unit or restroom trailer for a wedding?

Choose flushable units for weddings under 100 guests, for sites without water and power, and for budgets under $1,500 for restrooms. Choose a restroom trailer for 100 to 250 guests, for evening receptions where lighting and climate control matter, and for venues with a hose bib and a 20-amp outlet within 100 feet of level ground.

Questions renters ask about this unit

Is the flushable unit the same as the 'VIP' or 'luxury' porta potty?

Most rental companies use VIP, luxury or deluxe-flush to mean this unit: a foot-pump flush, closed bowl, sink and mirror in a single-stall cabin. The next step up is a restroom trailer with running water and climate control.

Do women guests really prefer the flushable unit?

At weddings and showers the feedback we hear is consistent: a closed bowl, a sink and a mirror are what guests notice. If most of your guests are women, we also suggest one more unit than the headcount formula gives, because sit-down use takes longer.

Can I get a light inside for an evening reception?

A clip-on solar LED light is $25 per unit and charges during the day. For receptions running past 9 PM we recommend one light per unit plus a path light outside, or a restroom trailer, which has wired lighting.

How far ahead should I book flushable units for a June wedding?

Four to six weeks for June, September and October Saturdays, which are the busiest wedding weekends in Butler County. Two weeks is usually enough for other dates. A 25% deposit holds the units.

Will the flush work in cold weather?

Above freezing, yes. Below freezing the flush water can freeze, so from November through March we rent flushable units only with a heated enclosure or for indoor-adjacent placements. Winter weddings usually use a heated restroom trailer.

Do you have an accessible flushable unit?

Our wheelchair-accessible unit is a non-flushing design with a flat floor and grab bars. An accessible flush option exists only in the restroom trailer with an ADA-style station, which we can quote for larger events.
