How many porta potties does a festival or fair need?

An 8-hour community fair with food and drink needs about 1 standard unit per 100 attendees present at peak, split into clusters near the entrances, the food court and the stage, with at least 1 accessible unit per cluster (5% minimum) and 1 handwashing station per 4 units. A 1,500-person church festival needs about 15 units, 2 accessible, 4 handwash stations.

The bigger the crowd, the more the layout matters: spread units into clusters of 5–10 so no line is longer than 10 people, keep a clear 10-foot lane behind each row for the pump truck, and put handwash stations between the food court and the nearest cluster. Run your own numbers on the calculator.

Which Butler County events use this setup?

Big-crowd dates around Butler fall between June and August: the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival at Cooper's Lake in June, the Big Butler Fair in Prospect over the July 4th week, Pennsic at Cooper's Lake in late July, the Butler Farm Show on Evans City Road in mid-August, and the Lake Arthur Regatta at Moraine State Park in August. Those weeks book our event fleet first, so reserve festival orders 3 weeks ahead.

Questions customers ask about this rental

When should units arrive for a Saturday festival?

Friday, between 8 AM and 3 PM, so the rows are set, staked and checked before vendors arrive. For Thursday-start fairs we set Wednesday. The pump truck comes back each morning before gates open.

Who services the units during the event?

Our driver, on a schedule you approve: a morning pump and restock before opening, and for days over 2,000 attendees an afternoon pass. For events over 5,000 a pump truck and crew stay on site.

How do we keep units from being tipped overnight?

We stake and strap every unit on open ground, bank rows back-to-back where possible, and can padlock doors overnight. Lighting the restroom area is the single best deterrent; we can set solar lights on each unit for $25.

Do beer-garden events need more units?

Yes: add 1 unit per 100 attendees when alcohol is served, and put that cluster next to the beer garden exit, not inside it, so the line does not block the serving area.

Can vendors and staff get their own units?

Yes. A separate 2–3 unit cluster behind the vendor row with its own handwash station keeps staff out of public lines and helps food vendors meet handwashing requirements. It is itemized separately on the invoice.

Do you deliver to Cooper's Lake or the fairgrounds in Prospect?

Both, regularly. Cooper's Lake is about 20 minutes from the yard and the Big Butler Fairgrounds about 15. For multi-day fairs we schedule daily service around the gate times the organizer gives us.
