Barn Wedding Restrooms Around Butler County: What Venues Have and What You Add
Most barn and farm venues in Butler County fall into three groups for restrooms. Knowing which group yours is in tells you what to rent.
Group 1: a real bathroom in the barn
Renovated barns with plumbing usually have two to four stalls. That handles about 75 guests for a 5-hour reception. Above that, the line forms during the toasts. The fix is one two-station restroom trailer set 50 feet from the barn, or two flushable units near the bar.
Group 2: a bathroom in the farmhouse
A single bathroom in the house across the yard does not count. Treat the site as having no restrooms and rent for the full guest count: 150 guests with a bar means a trailer plus a flushable unit, or four flushable units. Ask the venue whether guests may use the house at all; many say no after 8 PM.
Group 3: a field, a tent and a hose bib
Everything comes in. The two questions that decide the setup: is there a frost-free hydrant or hose bib within 100 feet of a level spot, and is there a 20-amp outlet? Yes to both: trailer. No to either: flushable units, or a trailer with our generator ($175) and a pre-filled tank.
Questions to ask the venue
- Where may vendors park a 15-foot trailer, and is the path firm after rain?
- May units stay Thursday or Friday through Monday?
- Is there a hose bib and a dedicated outlet, and how far from the reception?
- Is any part of the property a septic drain field? (Trucks stay off it.)
- Does the venue require a certificate of insurance from the restroom vendor? (We send one.)
Timing
Trailers for June, September and October Saturdays book 4 to 6 weeks out; 10 days is the latest we can hold one. A 25% deposit holds the date. Full details and prices are on the wedding restroom page.
