How Many Porta Potties Does Your Event Need?

Start with 1 unit per 50 guests

For a 4-hour event, divide the guest count by 50 and round up. 120 guests = 3 units.

Add 1 per 100 when the bar is open

Alcohol means more trips: add 1 per 100 guests, rounded down, minimum 1. 120 guests with a bar = 3 + 1 = 4 units.

Add units for long events

Past 4 hours, add the same 1-per-100 number for every extra 4-hour block.

Make 5% accessible, minimum 1

The 2010 ADA Standards (§213.2) require it for public events. We suggest it for any event with older guests.

Add a handwash station per 4 units
